To keep with the season of the holidays, it seems that there has been a project called “The Twelve Days of Entrepreneur Christmas.” And it is promoted by Jennifer Dunham and Kathryn Calhoun. I was very interested to see what “gifts” could be offered to assist the small business owner and to help make the entrepreneurship more successful — but as a free gift.
From an email that I received (after I had signed up for this “free giveaway” with the desire to learn from a course on how to conduct a giveaway as a business promotion for a startup or entrepreneur), this was the offer delivered in text to me:
“There are dozens of tools, templates, and other goodies available, plus over $15K in raffle prizes up for grabs.” And the link to this is the one given, above.
But the email proposes to have good news for me as the recipient of this message:
“You’re getting your first of your “12 Days of (Entrepreneur!) Christmas” emails – that means Santa has landed and your very first gifts are up for grabs.
Today’s Inspiration for Entrepreneurs: Work on your business, not in your business. Get help to handle simple, time-sucking tasks so you can focus on strategy and growth. (Thanks for the tip, Entrepreneur Magazine!)
Lots of awesome gifts to kick us off such as 10 Things to Do on a Sales Call to Increase Conversion from Susan Epstein…
We are just getting warmed up! You can check out ALL of the tools, templates & training up open now including not one but THREE gifts featured today, handpicked for entrepreneurs:
Go access your holiday presents now.
Inside Day 1 you’ll also find:

Watch for our email tomorrow for the 2nd day of Christmas (hint: there’s done-for-you content you can sell as your own)!
You only need to spend a minute or two with us each day to get maximum value from this event.”
Now, the notion of working ON your business as an entrepreneur, and NOT IN your business as a slave or worker-bee came from Michael Gerber of The E-myth Revisited, a very famous work for the entrepreneur or aspiring small business owner.
So, as this to me sounded a bit too good to be true, I did some investigation a bit further.
As expected, the audio and video courses that were listed (first, to make successful sales calls and have success in social media) as the first two appeared to be overpriced (the mark of a scam, to me — in my opinion). But the next several were listed with a price of $97 — which, in my opinion, is an indication of a fair amount for the work put in by the entrepreneur. They were:
- Your Gift: “How To Use Daily Emails To Explode Your Revenues Like Mentos In A Bottle Of Coke!” From Marc Mawhinney
- Get “The Goal Guide” TO SELL AS YOUR OWN, From Content Licensing Expert Justin Popovic (already day 2 of the 12) and
- Website Legal Policy Pack & You Could WIN the Legal Template Library from Bobby Klinck (this from day 4)
and the others were listed, but I did not review them or consume them or access them. In fact, there were 14 days total of deliverables.
However, I did see that on the 12th day, the course that I was interested in (the education on creating an entrepreneur give-away) was listed with a $497 price tag. Making me immediately suspicious, I did sign up for the video webinar, and I found out that it is scheduled for January 7th of the next year. And, yes, in the registration, I did have to submit my email address and name.
Thus, I did not go any further. I became suspicious of the quality of the “gifts” and was wondering if all these deliverables were going to be just sales jobs of the authors’ creatives. Well, I certainly do not have time to listen or view sales pitches. So I decided to table this matter until I could go through the first 2 of them and see how they may or may not deliver value and try to get me into their sales funnel.
For entrepreneurs, this may be a blessing — for they may be struggling with some of the topics or ideas or plans that are then taught in these courses, webinars or tutorials that are offered.
More on this later, after I go through some of these “gifts” and report on them to my audience.
In the meantime, have a great holiday season as a startup, a small business owner or entrepreneur. Thank you for your attention.
