45- Profitable podcasting as a disruption entrepreneur

Struggling Biz

In this episode of TheStrugglingBiz.com, we repurpose an earlier interview with a small business owner who defied conventional wisdom of making a profitable business in podcasting by the usual means and processes. Since 2015, he has done just the opposite of what most podcasters do — he started a business NOT to create podcast episodes and podcast shows, but to become a podcast guest. And now, with his profitable business, he helps others to become podcast guests for other podcast shows. He was one of the first to do so.

And so, at an earlier Podcast Movement conference, I had the opportunity to conduct a virtual interview with Tom Schwab (from my previous podcast, The Struggling Entrepreneur — which had podfaded a year or so ago). And as you will hear in this audio episode, the concepts and strategies for success that are discussed for the startup or entrepreneur are, indeed, evergreen.

And Tom was one of the startups in the podosphere that managed to be a successful broker for podcast guests and podcasters seeking interviewees.

He has a web site of Interview Valet. And he has had a great career — from running a nuclear plant to entrepreneur.

The interview with Tom Schwab has strategies and suggestions that are evergreen and still work fine today.

Now, in today’s environment, many look-alike copycats have also jumped on the bandwagon to be a broker between podcasters and potential podcast interviewees.

However, Tom Schwab was one of the original small business owners who set his direction in being a DISRUPTION ENTREPRENEUR. And his success has followed him, with the same strategies that he presents for us in his interview from an earlier podcast.
