In this episode of The Struggling Biz, we discuss the benefits of a simple lead magnet — as described by Lisa R Wells from a post in her site, in which she also provides a 5-minute video with the explanation.

And in her post, Lisa defines what a lead magnet is and what it does and how it does not have to be expensive or complicated:

A lead magnet is an incentive that you can offer to potential buyers or prospects in exchange for their email address or other contact information. These are free items that you use to capture email addresses in order to build your list so that you can follow up with these leads and build trust in the hopes that you can do business with them. Examples of lead magnets include: PDF checklist, report / e-book, whitepaper, audio / video, e-course, quiz, sampler packs… So many examples! …. I go over 7 things your lead magnet must do. I also want to show you that a lead magnet doesn’t have to be complicated or super fancy in order to be effective.”


Now, I have promoted Lisa and her site for aspiring entrepreneurs and solo-preneurs, for she does deliver some free advice, organized resources and success stories from her own experience as a solo-preneur. In this case, the video and the post of information she delivers comes from a program that she has called “Systems Sunday: Simple systems in 5 minutes or less.”

As you will see in her video on the site, Lisa delivers seven elements for a successful lead magnet. Of course, as is with all good promotions, Lisa has a call-to-action for her viewers and listeners and readers to subscribe to her blog and email list, as well as purchase some of her offerings.

If you, as an aspiring solo-preneur, wish to apply her techniques for creating and implementing a good lead magnet, we hope that you will deliver VALUE in what you will give to your prospects, and that your results from the lead magnet will move you forward on your road to success.

I have used lead magnets in my past projects for monetization of my podcast courses, companion podcast shows and premium podcast shows. However, one word of warning — you must constantly be monitoring the results and feedback of the actions from the lead magnets, as well as acting on any tasks that you may have come up, because customer interaction now requires swift and courteous and superb VALUE delivered to the customer or prospect.
