67- Small business owners — profitable relaunching in a lockdown

Struggling Biz

In this episode of TheStrugglingBiz.com, we focus on the theme of resuming or re-opening your entrepreneurial enterprise after a lockdown, or during a re-opening phase from the virus crisis lockdown.

For an entrepreneur in the New Media space — especially both podcasting and video screencasting and training — a growth area for online presence during a lockdown is that of either screencasting or podcasting. For both of these media allow the growth or opening of new avenues for the audiences that need to stay home and remain in a mandated lockdown. And if you find these openings in the arena of the podosphere (for profitable podcasting) or in video tutorials and training and other methods of screencasting, these can be the routes to re-launching your business and becoming a profitable New Media professional.

But what if you do not have the skills to be either a podcaster or screencaster or video consultant?

Well, there are online training courses and membership programs that can assist you so that you can learn the skills and then be able to provide solutions to customers that need the finished products — either podcasting or training videos.

For the podcaster, there is The School of Podcasting with Dave Jackson. At his site, he has tutorials that you can purchase by the a-la-carte method. Or if you want to have the entire training available, he has full courses in how to podcast. And he even has a book called More Podcast Money that can alert you to the many ways of monetizing your podcast and make it create revenue streams for you. By the way, in the next month or so, the book is being updated and will deliver even more value for the podcasters that wants to monetize the podcast.

Now, for the entrepreneur who wants to become a video screencaster, video consultant or training producer in video, there is a membership program that can deliver the skills to you. It is available from Lon Naylor at Screencapturevideo.com. And since I have been a member of this program (once called LearnCamtasia.com), I have seen how this training can be valuable and can prepare someone to become a professional screencaster and create videos, with the emphasis of learning being on the Techsmith product, Camtasia Studio. And they can even get some advanced skills in video and presentation creation with MS PowerPoint.

So there is a way to break out and re-launch yourself as an entrepreneur during and after a lockdown in this age of virus crisis. And if you need the skills, then this episode can point you to the way to become a professional and profitable podcaster, as well as a professional screencaster and video producer for hire.

And you can always put together a plan to become a professional content creator in one or both of these media. And we think that you can be on the road to success within several months to a year — and that should be a good way to re-launch yourself as a successful entrepreneur.

Thank you for your attention.
