29- Small business end-of-year 2019 checklist

Struggling Biz

As the year wraps up for a close and the beginning of the next year, a small business owner or entrepreneur or startup should make a checklist of items and tasks that can be critical for a quick start for the next year and also the success of the business, without missing a beat — yet giving the entrepreneur time to enjoy as much of the holiday season as possible.

In this very brief audio episode, we deliver some recommendations from Lisa R. Wells.

There is a pdf that delivers a checklist for these, and it is from Lisa R Wells (and it is free) and its title is “2019 End of Year Checklist.” You can download it at the link.

And Lisa provides also a video called “2019 End of Year Checklist — 12 things to do before the new year.” It is at this location:

#74: 2019 End of Year Checklist – 12 Things to do Before the New Year

You may want to view the 7-minute video or the 5-page pdf to understand the suggestions that Lisa delivers to you. Some of the key ones recommend your actions for

  • Housekeeping on your web footers, your forms, your contact information and fixing broken links; and
  • Updating obsolete material (or getting rid of it), as well as team information and profiles; and
  • Removing redundancy
  • etc.

Although these may seem to be all too obvious, it is a general fact that much of these are not done by the entrepreneur, as the holiday season and other business tasks take precedence. Then, the outdated information or the needed changes will have to be made during the new year. And it could result in awkward situations that overwhelm the entrepreneur at critical times. So it may be better to prepare for the new year in your startup or small business with as much of a “clean slate” as can be.

What will take minimal time during the holiday season may save excruciating hours of make-up time during the year when you most want to have a quick-start.

We wish all of you the best during this holiday season, and we hope that you not only review this list, but add to it with your own small tasks of housekeeping for your business before the new year.

Thanks to Lisa Wells for her suggestions.
